After visiting a dermatology clinic near Ewha Womans University Station, I stopped by a café.

If you walk into the small alley across from the construction site,
there is a café called .

Although they officially open at 11 a.m., they kindly let me in at 10:50. I spent some time writing, listening to music, and simply sitting quietly.

For breakfast on an empty stomach, I had a very sweet strawberry cream cheese cake and a café latte. I wondered whether sugar or caffeine would be better on an empty stomach, so I decided to eat the cake first. They didn’t have decaf, and afterward my heart kept pounding until bedtime.

These days, I’ve been reading The Art of Loving by Erich Fromm.

Recently, I suddenly became deeply interested in psychoanalysis, so I’ve been reading many books written by psychoanalysts. Strangely, rereading them now feels completely different — compared to the first time, they are much easier to understand and resonate with me more deeply.

“Paradoxically, the ability to be alone is the condition for the ability to love.”
— Erich Fromm

After doing a few things, I cleaned up my table and went to the dermatology clinic, but it overlapped with lunchtime, so the wait was extremely long. In the end, I just went back home.

Maybe there was no need to come all the way to Ewha when I could have gone to a café near my house, but since it was my day off and I had plenty of time, it felt alright anyway.
