CHANEL Le Vernis 421 Crystalline

To celebrate the arrival of summer, CHANEL released a large collection of limited-edition Le Vernis shades as part of its Summer Collection this June. While trying them on one by one, I completely fell in love with shade 421 Crystalline, so I wanted to share a review.

The swatch photos online make it look quite pink, but in real life it doesn't appear that way at all. Instead, it's mostly transparent with a soft pink iridescent reflection that catches the light in the most delicate way.

CHANEL always embraces luminous, radiant makeup for summer. These new Le Vernis shades perfectly reflect that philosophy. While many brands focus on long-lasting matte skin during the hotter months, CHANEL takes a different approach. Rather than hiding imperfections, it celebrates healthy-looking skin and enhances your natural beauty through light and radiance.

Most of this season's Le Vernis shades have a sheer, syrup-like finish that allows your natural nail color to show through. Since I usually apply Le Vernis over my gel manicure, I intentionally chose a syrupy beige gel as the base so the nail polish would stand out more beautifully.

Here's what my nails looked like with only the beige gel. To be honest, I wasn't particularly impressed with the color by itself...

And here they are after applying 421 Crystalline!

It's a shame that photos simply can't capture how beautiful the shimmer looks in person.

The moment I applied 421 over the ordinary beige base, my nails transformed completely. They reminded me of sparkling gemstones, mysterious seashells, or smooth pebbles polished by the ocean. The finish became so luminous, dreamy, and almost magical that I instantly felt choosing the beige gel had been the right decision.

I honestly can't stop looking at my nails.

Even a single coat creates this beautiful glow.

I rarely buy CHANEL nail polishes because they're quite expensive, but this is one of those shades that I think I'd actually use for a very long time. It instantly elevates even the most ordinary nail color, so now I'm genuinely tempted to get one. Though since it's a limited edition, it's probably already sold out... Maybe I'll have to look for something similar instead. Haha.
